Dear Mr Trechak,
Hope this letter finds you well and that your finances are up and thanks for AR 54 and AR 55. There is a correction at the end of this letter for you. Mind Control, what a fascinating subject, I didn't know it existed until I started to read the AR's. Let me give you some background about ourselves.
We had been in the WCG for about 20 years and quite happily went along with nearly all that was said and done and only had a few minor questions that remained unanswered. About 9 months ago I was in the process of getting into finals of a Higher National Certificate in Chemistry that I was taking when gradually my wife started coming to me and saying that this has stopped and that has stopped and what about so and so. Then as the final last month of exams started she was becoming more urgent on the subject of changes in the WCG. I then started to realise that something was wrong and did a test by asking the church If I could have an updated booklet on US and Britain in Prophecy---out of print came the reply.
Well to cut a long, agonizing story short, we left WCG and joined up with GCG thinking they were the answer. We spent three months free of Ministerial mind control when I was just in the position to get a church going in a local school for the GCG when this guy came over from Europe with an Irish man and his wife. I thought the European guy would say great get going. Instead he said I was to stop this and stop that, and I was to do this and to do that, NO DISCUSSION WHATSOEVER. YOU WILL DO.
When he had finished his say I asked him meekly If he had read the Ambassador Reports and he said yes and I thought he was going to say all of them, but he said he had only read the latest one and that AR was totally in favour of the GCG. Little did he know. I then asked him if he had read "Combatting CULT Mind control" by Stephen Hassan. He said no, what was that?, and I showed him. He said he really hadn't got time to read that sort of thing.
With that I spilled a bit of emotion and said to him that he really needed to get himself educated and read these things. With that the Irishman said "What's Ambassador reports?". I thought in the back of my mind that these guys know absolutely nothing. I basically sent them packing and told Meredith to get knotted.
I told the Cult Information Centre in London that once I had experienced freedom of thought no way was I going to go back to a situation where my mind was being controlled. Soooo it was with interest that I read your latest report where the subject of Dankenbring came up.
You see in the process of getting a church for GCG almost started, I had gained some experience in getting things organised. So once I told Meredith that I had suspended our membership to him and I began to reorganise. I first asked the local Citizens Advise Bureau what the legal requirement were to set up a church and they said none, you only don't have to break the law i.e. don't commit incest or perform black magic or make a public row and that sort of thing. Four other public organisations said the same thing. It's a free country, and the Christian Outreach group gave me lots of info on the ministerial side. So about one months before Passover time came, I started to study into it.
I had heard from various sources that Dankenbring had got Passover right.
I knew he had written a lot on it but quite frankly as there was so much to read (and I have a job to hold down) that I went back to the Bible. (Authorised version)
I knew from the bible that the Passover evening was the 14 Nissan, but not having any knowledge of Jewish months etc, and knowing that Romans 3:2 said that God had ENTRUSTED the Jews with the oracles (laws) of god. I phoned up Rabbi Coten of the Kingston (London) Synagogue and asked him. I told him a bit about myself and he said that Passover this year 1994 was the night time of March 26, this being a Saturday night (The WCG kept it Friday night 24 hrs earlier) with local friends in England this stirred up a whole can of worms, remember I was now free of mind control. I was beginning to study my own bible line by line.
Then there is this thing which I find so important which is that when one reaches the first holy day the first day of unleavened bread (15 Nissan) and goes through it, the next thing that happens is that one reaches the night of the full moon (IN the month Abib) an excellent reference point. Gen 1:14-17 and Ps 104:19 shows that the moon (and sun) is used for seasons etc, religious leaders can alter times and dates but they can't alter the phases of the moon. God is totally in control of that one.
The Passover evening, when the lambs throat was cut, when Christ was finally put to death and when the bread is to be broken and wine drunk, is easily identified as being the last few minutes of the 14 Nissan. ( Ex 12:6). At the going down of the sun ( Deut 16:6.) In Britain it lasts about 10 minutes according to the London Observatory Office.
So this is the FIRST point which I found the WCG had got it wrong, by observing the Passover 24 hrs before it should be kept. One local WCG minister knows this and brushes it off by saying its a church tradition; basically they don't want to be associated with the Jews.
Now when the sun has set, technically we are in the next biblical 24 hrs (Night-after sunset starts a biblical 24 day), which is the first dark hours of the 15th Nissan. About 5 hrs later at midnight the death angel struck, Pharaoh had had enough. At NIGHT (Exodus 12:31) Pharaoh said GET OUT (spiritually they were now out); Exodus 12:42 states that "It is a NIGHT (night of the 15th ) to much observed unto the lord for bring them out from the land of Egypt. "The following day, day part of the 15th, they were still being brought out of the land (Exodus 12:51) last part. To top it (Deut 16:1) Observe the month of Abib, and keep the Passover unto the Lord thy God: for in the month of Abib the Lord thy brought thee forth out of Egypt by night.
The NIGHT to much observed is the exact same night as the Passover night.
This is the SECOND point which I found the WCG had mucked up. The THIRD is that by observing the Passover (eating a bit of unleavened bread as the WCG does) 24 hrs earlier and then going back to a normal bread eating day the day after their Passover, they are in fact not only keeping the days of unleavened bread over a period of eight days, but they are also breaking the spirit of the thing when quite a number of scriptures say SEVEN days thou shalt eat unleavened bread.
Then there is the routine which I dutifully obeyed for twenty years. Foot washing just after sunset, eat the broken bread and drink the wine about twenty minutes later (it takes a lot of time to serve 100 people.) then of course the hymn. Now being on our own with my own family as the Passover night came upon us, I thought to myself just what is the routine ?.
The last Supper. supper (dictionary definition, eaten at even) Deut 16:6 at the going down of the sun, identifies the time.
Math 26:20 Christ sat down with the twelve at the going down of the sun. and did eat.
Math 26:26 As they ate he took bread.
Math 26:27 took the cup. This represented shed blood. Then
St John 13:2 Supper being ended
St John 13:4 rose from supper,
St John 13:5 washed feet
Math 26:30 sang a hymn.
This only took about half hour bible study and it hit me like a thunder bolt. The WCG had REVERSED THE ROUTINE. They had put foot washing first then the bread and wine bit about 20 minutes later. It was the bread and wine and foot washing he said to follow as the new routine. At the moment I will say this is new truth.
The FOURTH point here is that the breaking of bread and the drinking of the wine which represented his broken body and shed blood which happened about 24 hours later. No where did he say keep the last supper.
1 Corinthians 11:27 points out that these things are to be done to show his DEATH till he come. He died 24 hours later after he broke the bread and drank the wine, which would have only taken a few minutes. And as Dankenbring has so correctly pointed out this happened before the feast of the Passover (St John 13:1). The foot washing part took place in the preparation period (John 19:14) , Jesus was actually killed in the evening of the preparation day (John 19:31), 14 Nissan i.e. the Passover evening.
One organisation has said we must do all that Jesus has done because he set us the perfect example. Oh dear!!; if we did that, all Christians would be dead at the age of 33.
The last FIFTH point is that how Pentecost is to be counted (Deut16: 9 last part) begin to number the seven weeks from such time as thou beginnest to put the sickle to the corn. Its a working day, the day following the full moon. The day part of the 16 Nissan. The wave sheaf was offered on the first day of unleavened bread (first fruits a yearly sabbath) next day get cuttin son; the jews have got it right. Pentecost this year 1994 was May 16th.
Conclusion, Night before full moon (Abib) is Passover night, day following the full moon count one for Pentecost. Also because the Full moon each year will be on a different night so Pentecost will change.
SIXTH, like "Trinity" one cannot find "Worldwide Church of God" in the bible.
A correction in closing--its good to have friends but its a pity whoever informed you about us didn't consult with us first. We originally started up as The Church of God (of peace) this was because we had locally a Church of God (of prophecy) After a short space of time we decided to be biblical and call ourselves the Church of God. Girobank has accepted our constitutional rules and we have now got a Religious Account number with them.
