Was Mr Armstrong quite accurate in his assessment of the Identity of the Tribes of Israel? i.e. America as Manesseh. There is a reason why he quickly toned himself down on the subject. One auther1 says he was wrong, could this have been another of Mr A's mistakes?
For new readers, the Identity of the tribes of Israel is the belief that God, because Abraham obeyed him would bless Abraham's off spring. Those off spring Britain and America are some of the tribes of Israel which were lost but are now found.

It is fairly easy to see from the above 14, 4, 5 and 19 that the last days are in fact from the moment that Christ started to preach, till the moment that his feet will stand on Mount Zion at his return pre-millennially. It does not mean the last 100 or 300 or whatever days, but the last 2000 years

Was Mr Armstrong and Mr Allen and The British Israelites all wrong when they said that Britain was Ephraim. Let's look closely

40, Israel crosses his hands (God is guiding him) there is a very good reason
for this which will come later, but there is a hint in 41. So God sets 42,
Ephraim first now. 62 Some people are in the islands of the sea. Ephraim
and others? certainly. 64, O islands shows that 65, It's Israel and they are
castaways 66 no longer. And the isles 68 are to wait for the law. 55, and
declare it in the isles afar off.
Who is he talking to? verse 18, I have surely heard Ephraim bemoaning
himself. 67, Israel/Ephraim shall abide many days without a King 72. After
having a long line of kings and Queens and Princes and Princesses.
Where is Ephraim planted? 76, like Tyrus, is planted in a pleasant place.
Britain is planted in one of the most pleasant places in the world, neither too
hot or too cold. I have lived abroad and I was glad to get back here. Why do
Billionaires reside here?

Fundamentally Britain once had a Vast Empire. Now we have virtually nothing, and
weak.
It has been stated that " The Empire came suddenly into existence". It did in
fact take three centuries3 with Britain desiring to export cloth in
about 1515 AD when the Great Harry carried a crew of 700 men, and 50 large and
200 small guns.
From the above it is fairly clear that because EPHRAIM will become a company
of nations i.e. different speaking nationalities and I will eat Ephraim away as
a moth, that Britain is Ephraim. This is also confirmed by Yair
Davidy4 on page 370. Prophecies and traditions concerning Manesseh
were to become applicable to the USA. Britain on the other hand was to remain
the province of Ephraim.
Where author1 right
The author in his America in Prophecy1 has attempted to show that
America is Ephraim in prophecy. In this article, page 17 he has stated that the
strongest proofs that the United states constitutes modern Ephraim,--it is the
GREATEST NATION on earth today, is a simple matter of fulfilled prophecy. On
page 10 he states that Ephraim was prophesied to become "a multitude of
nations". He also states on the same page that British Empire on which the sun
did not set--was Global in extent. And that Britain is not so powerful today.
And on page 11 that America is a union of Fifty states, very good.
Now if the author had stayed with the idea that America is the GREATEST
NATION ON EARTH TODAY everybody would have been happy with this. It isn't
strictly true but people would have been happy.
Where author1 wrong
He has mixed his metaphors and quite frankly got his knickers in such twist
over this subject that he doesn't know whether he is coming or going.

Under British Empire. It reads, The Treaty of Amiens ( 1802) made Trinidad and
Ceylon officially British. This just made the British Empire stretch the globe a
bit.
Physically speaking Manesseh, being the older (first born) should have
received double portions of things, so Joseph placed him at Israel's right hand;
ready to receive all the goodies. Why Joseph even bothered to bring Ephraim
along beats the imagination as Ephraim was classed as a second class citizen in
Josephs eyes. And don't forget they were only toddlers.
However at the last second GOD crossed Israel's hands so that EPHRAIM (the
younger) was to become GREATER than Manasseh AND become a MULTITUDE of nations.

What went wrong for Manesseh? 31, 32, 34, 35, 41.
The hint was; Jacob (Israel), Joseph and Manasseh are all tough arrogant
types. Joseph loved Manasseh his Physical first born and rightly wanted Manesseh
to have double portions but God who said Ephraim was HIS firstborn because he
was more pleasant to be with; guided Israel's hands to cross so that Ephraim was
to have double portions instead. This displeased Joseph who identified
more with Manesseh.
Manesseh (America) today is very arrogant. She operates on Gun Law, she did
not have to drop the second H bomb on Japan so quickly after the first. She has
never had a king in the later days; she rejected this system. She has never
actually been attacked YET. She is jealous of Ephraim's Empire 63 still. She
would have taken all of Britain's north sea oil if allowed to. She is a vast
continent Mr Author1 NOT a group of islands.
Ephraim (Britain), overall is law abiding even to her own expense, HAS
Royalty, HAS been attacked heavily, is a governing people, we are quiet and
academic(we produced all the good idea's such as the silicon chip and the
Harrier jump jet) this is because the weather forces us to be. We are a group of
islands and in the Empirical sense we have been eaten away as a moth. We are now
virtually nothing.
So America CANNOT be, in these last days a great single nation, a company of
nations and be eaten away as a moth ALL AT THE SAME TIME.

Why is it so important to identify the tribes? If we are to do the work of
god then that work consists of going to the people that Christ sent the message
to.
Christ could identify tribes can you? If you can't identify the tribes you
don't have the mind of God. If you don't obey Christ and go to the tribes then
that is rebellion and into tribulation you go. Remember by Christ's time the
tribes were no longer lost, If they were the Disciples would not have
known where to go would they? Christ told then where to go.

Now are we saying that we are the only true CHURCH OF GOD no of course not,

It is quite likely that when Mr Armstrong changed the name of the church from
the Radio Church of God to the Worldwide Church of God that he was in the right
mood for changing. This was correct. But egotistically he wanted things big. He
was therefore happy to change names as he saw fit. He correctly understood that
the name of the True Church would have to be the Church of God. Maybe the name
Church of God was simply to small for his big mind. He then correctly understood
about the Tribes and the identity of them and generally what would happen to
them that Manesseh/America would become a single great nation. The fact that he
plagiarised the ideas from Allen without giving Allen credit was a little
naughty. But so far so good.
Then the human Armstrong took over. This now is only an educated guess. When
we came into contact with the Americans at a feast site one year; understanding
that the Americans/Manesseh had in fact split off from Britain/Ephraim; we asked
them, would we ever come back together again? the Americans went quiet only
saying that there isn't much about Manesseh in the good book.
The truth of the matter was in fact pointed out to Mr Armstrong in the early
years. Then HE went quiet on the matter and the identity of nations came out of
the limelight and Matthew 24:14 was hammered.
What was the truth that he didn't want told. Well he sucked in Millions of
dollars on the pretext that the Americans would always be number one.
So what is the truth? At this point in time there are 250 million professing
Christians in America. Let us take the WW church. Lets assume they have 90.000
professing Christians in America. The harsh reality is that 78.000 of those are
going into TRIBULATION. How did we work that out? quite simple. Manesseh will
only have 12.000 as first fruits (Rev7:6) If we consider the ones that have died
that have "made it" we have less than 12.000 to go. Now don't go along with the
hog wash that God is in charge he will work everything out, just believe in the
lord. God says WORK OUT YOUR OWN SALVATION with fear and trembling, (Philip
2:12)
What Mr Armstrong didn't have, was the guts to tell the Americans that when
the time was right, when Ephraim had been brought down low and eaten away
as a moth eats a bit of cloth 73. That 54,Ephraim (who is) MY firstborn
will seek me early 74, He will (become the chief of the nations) 53 and 49 will
be one with Judah and David 51 shall be their prince forever.44, and 45
shows Britain will guide the system.
Some will say that we are so low, that is impossible. But remember
with God nothing is impossible.
CONCLUSIONS
Latter days are from the time Christ started to preach to now. The Identity
of Tribes is crucial to do the work of God and for salvation. Yair Davidy is the
latest scholar to say Britain is Ephraim.
